• This is absolutely delicious. Follow the instructions and let the cake come up to room temperature. I couldn't believe people had complained about it being dry when I tasted it. So soft, flavoursome and delicious. It didn't last five minutes!

• Apparently the apple crumble cake was amazing, I didn’t get to sample it unfortunately as it was a gift for my dad, I did however have the red velvet cake the week before bought for me as a gift and it was gorgeous!! So thick and rich! The buttercream was to die for and there was so much of it!! I’m going to be gifting sponge! For ever!

• The sponge arrived moist and tasty with cinnamon and raisins. The apple not so noticable. The butter icing solid rather than light and fluffy but appreciate the sponge needs to be up to courier delivery service.

• Bought this for a birthday gift for my for my brother in law, who's favourite pudding is apple crumble. He said he'd never had it as a cake though, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd tried this flavour in the sharing cake last year and it was my favourite flavour - a bit different from the norm, but moist sponge and full of flavour. This is the 4th cake I've ordered from Sponge and would highly recommend this company.

• Superb. Very generous 8 portions. Moist and cinnamon-y, rather like a carrot cake. Thick buttercream through the centre (possibly might be better if slightly softer, but then it might not travel so well... and in any case I'm certainly not complaining!) and thinner layer on top with a sweet and spicy crunchy sprinkles. Layers were completely even - the overall look was perfect. It sliced well and kept well. For me, this was a huge extravagance, but under the right circumstances I'd definitely buy again. Thanks for helping to make my lockdown birthday special!

• Great flavour. Ordered this as a lockdown treat and everyone enjoyed it. Love the crumble top. Lovely balance of flavours, the cinnamon was not to over powering but just right. Liked the bits of fruit in it too.

• Not the most beautiful cake but all is forgiven because it was moist, delicious and flavoursome (allegedly- as it was sent to a relative Mike’s away so I didn’t get a taste!!)
