Known as Queen Victoria's favourite cake and was the first monarch to have enjoyed delicious cakes with the modern rising agents such as baking powder and soda. If only jam is between the sponge layers, then the cake is called a 'jam sponge'. We have ensured there is plenty of our yummy buttercream naturally flavoured with vanilla for an extra special treat.
