• It is a fine cake and our favourite. The burst of smarties is great fun, The chocolate shavings are high quality chocolate and the butter cream layers keep it moist. The last point is why it is much better than the regular chocolate or coffee cakes that can sometimes be a bit dry. Thanks team, a great birthday cake treat.

• The cake wasn't too dry and the buttercream was perfect. We followed the advice on the enclosed leaflet and it tasted great. The chocolate/cocoa quality seems good, as this is often noticeable with baked goods.

• We’ve had many cakes from sponge, this was our first pinata cake, and most likely our last. The cake felt really small due to the hollowed centre and didn’t really enjoy eating all the tiny little sweets inside- would of been better and more enjoyable if they had been bigger sweets, like smarties as opposed to the tiny tiny sweets that ended up mostly in the bin- even the children couldn’t be bothered with them as too small to enjoy.

• The cake was sent to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The smarties inside the cake were an extra special surprise and everyone wanted to know how they got inside! The cake was especially delicious too.

• The cake was for my son at university. He and his friends loved the suprise when they cut it open. Something a bit different and special as not being able to be with family to celebrate.

• As noted above: It was a love surprise with the smarties inside so that was great fun. But apparently the cake was not delicious ‘tasted like play dough’ my daughter said. In fact, had there been a surprise one that was vegan I would have got it.

• The chocolate cake was tasty. Probably the only small criticism is that there weren’t quite enough smarties in the middle of the cake to go around everyone!

• Lovely light, moist, chocolatey cake, great flavour, and lovely smooth buttercream. The chocolate beans inside were brilliant. Expensive but worth it for the surprise factor.
