• I really loved that the flavour was unusual compared to the usual supermarket options of chocolate cake or lemon drizzle. Whilst the cake wasn't cheap it was a good size and for us it gave more than 16 portions (maybe we are mean with our slices). We had many non coeliacs and I'm not sure that they could tell the difference between this and a non-gluten free cake

• Ordered gluten free as boyfriend coeliac (as his his mum). They both said it was the best GF cake they have ever had! Others didn’t even notice a difference between GF and ‘normal’ - all thought it was lovely, even a few days after being baked - still moist and tasty. Will definitely order from here again for the GF as will others in the family after trying it.

• Delicious cake - good texture and not at all dry. It arrived on the Saturday and I was a bit worried that it would dry out by the birthday date, on the Tuesday, but it didn’t at all. Enjoyed by everyone who tried it and it was all eaten. Well-packaged also and I was pleased that I was sent info about how to store it.

• Cake tasted great and when you don't tell people its gluten free they didnt have a clue in the first place which is a good measure of a quality gluten free product. I think the taste of the icing also helps with this as it is really rich.

• This is the first time I have ordered from Sponge and it won't be the last. This cake was well received by the gluten-free, vegetarian and "ordinary" consumers. It was light in texture and not sickly, a fault with many other cakes/sponges of similar flavours. I can't say how long it would keep as we ate it in two days. A definite hit.

• The gluten free cake was bought as a birthday cake for my wife. This has to be one of the best gluten free cakes I’ve ever tasted. The cake does crumble a little bit but can be forgiven the second you take a bite. Thank you for this lovely creation.

• Very pleased with packaging and delivery when expected. The cake tasted fab. Very tasty, not dry at all, wouldn't have known it was gluten free if I hadn't known.

• Gluten free cake was too dry so will not be ordering this again, however the gluten free Victoria spong we ordered previously was lovely.

• We were blown away at how delicious this cake was! Being gluten free we didn't have high hopes but OMG! No one would ever have guessed it was gluten free. It was moist and gorgeous. My sister now wants one and she’s not even gluten intolerant! Will 100% be buying again :)

• Arrived in perfect condition eve though upside down in carriers van! Packaged well and sealed in air tight bag. Cake was lovely and moist and tasted fantastic. Will certainly try another type of cake when next need one.

• This cake was beautifully presented and both layers tasted just as good as any non gluten free cake. The texture was nice and light. Both the toffee and the caramel flavours come through very well in the buttercream. Both my husband and I agree that this is the best cake we have purchased from anywhere and it has made us want to try one of the other cakes Sponge do to see if it is just as good.

• The cake is very generous size it says serves 16 but I think it easily serves about 24 generous slices - very fresh too.

• The cake looks cheap in appearance and was dry to taste even though eating it within 24 of arrival when it says it should be fresh for 7 days.
