Our gluten free and no refined sugar cake is here! Crushed and whole pecans with lashings of maple syrup are baked into the gluten free sponge. It is then drizzled with more syrup as it comes out the oven so it soaks straight through the delicious sponge.

Storage & Care

Our gluten free cakes are made in a separate kitchen to our standard cakes, by a team who will only work in that kitchen all day and do not move between kitchens. Ingredients are stored separately and no equipment is shared between the gluten free kitchen and the kitchen where the rest of our cakes are made.

  • The maple & pecan sponge is smaller, flatter and more dense than the other sponges. The flavour is delicious but, it is also less moist than the other sponges on offer, maybe a dairy free cream through the middle would help this. I have been having it with fresh fruit. I enjoy most of the gluten & dairy free offerings from Sponge and recommend them. I would love to see a lemon drizzle non dairy butter cream sponge offered.

Our gluten free maple and pecan refined sugar free cakes are ideal for a birthday celebration or other special occasion. They also make great cakes to enjoy as an afternoon treat. They are ideal if you can't have gluten and are trying to keep an eye on your sugar intake. 

These cakes are made with maple syrup and don't have any other sugar added to the mix, so the sweetness comes from the natural sugars contained in the maple syrup.
