• I was expecting this to be fantastic, as other cakes have been at Sponge. However this was really unpleasant! The lemon flavour wasn’t really present, there was just an overwhelming medicinal/synthetic smell and taste which must have been meant to have been elderflower. It felt like a synthetic alternative had been used for both flavours; I’d be very surprised to hear if an actual lemon or elderflower cordial had been in the recipe! After the first piece we threw it away I’m afraid!

Beautifully decorated, it was soft, spongy and so so delicious that it wasn't allowed to last:) It was wolfed down within 2 days in a cake orgy :) Thank you for a fabulous cake. The ordering process was very easy, the price was very reasonable and the delivery was bang on time.

• A lovely light sponge with plenty of flavour, with plenty of coloured star shaped bits made of icing on top.
