World Photo Day is for celebrating Photography, whether it’s professional or amateur, we can all appreciate a photo. Not only is it a day to celebrate other people’s photography but it’s also a day that encourages us all to go out and take our own photos. And, pretty much the majority of us could just take five minutes out of our day on the 19th of August to do it, as most of us carry cameras around with us in our pockets on a daily basis.
Not only is photography a great way for us to remember exciting moments in our lives, but it’s also a great way to document historical events for future generations. And there are a lot of people who document most of their daily lives. But even if you don’t go quite that far in your everyday life, you probably have at least one photo that you absolutely love and adore. If you’re looking for an unusual way to use and celebrate that photo, we have a couple of great ways you can use them:
Photo Cakes
Our Photo Cake is the perfect centrepiece for a birthday or special occasion. You can get creative and upload your own photo and add personalised text, or choose from one of our fun pre-designed toppers!
We have two yummy Sponge Cake flavours available to choose from - our Victoria Sponge Photo Cake or our Chocolate Photo Cake. Both are available in two sizes: for 8 or for 16 (with very generous portions!). Perfect for small or big birthday gatherings.
The toppers are printed using edible ink onto an icing disc which will then be cut out and carefully placed and secured on top of your cake. Your cake will then be securely packaged to arrive at your chosen delivery address.

We take extra care and attention to detail while applying your cake toppers, so they take a bit more time to prepare. As we only have a small team of expert bakers we need to allow an extra day to process photo cake orders. This also means that there may be limited availability when demand is high.

Photo Cake Cards
Cake cards are a unique gift that you can send through the post to brighten up someone’s day for any occasion. They consist of a card and a choice of one or two slices of yummy cake, all packaged together in a specially designed A5 box. Our Letterbox cake has been specifically designed this way to fit through a standard size letterbox, allowing us to send these unique gift cakes by post!
When you buy one of our Cake Card Letterbox cakes, we package it in a way to ensure that it survives the drop from the letterbox to the floor, and the cake slices stay in perfect condition. Your cake is securely packaged in its bespoke cake box. Sending cakes in a card by post is a new and innovative creation, available from Sponge.
The great thing about the Cake Cards is the surprise. As it doesn't require a signature, your postman can simply slip it through the letterbox with the rest of your post and the recipient doesn’t have to be in for the delivery. What a fantastic surprise for them, as they will have no idea you have sent them a special personalised card with cake inside by post!
