A lot of us think of Afternoon teas as special treats, and they can be just that. But in reality, afternoon teas are just finger sandwiches, little cakes, and scones, with a pot of tea or coffee (or prosecco if you want it sparkling). In the grand scheme of things, afternoon teas are something you can quite easily recreate at home, and with the amount of spare cash we have dwindling with increased prices, luxury outings might be a bit out of reach for some.
Although we love an afternoon tea, it may seem like a bit too much of a luxury at the moment. But as Afternoon Tea Week is from the 8th to 14th of August 2022, we want to encourage you to still enjoy an afternoon tea... by making your own at home. Let’s face it, most of us can make finger sandwiches, the fillings are usually anything to extravagant that we can do them ourselves. Cakes can be a little tricker though, not everyone is a baker and that’s okay, you don’t need to be one to create an affordable afternoon tea for the whole family.
At Sponge, we have little cakes brownies that are the perfect sizes for afternoon teas, and they are delivered straight to the door anywhere in the UK, so you don’t have to worry about going out and getting cakes when they can come to you. Baby Brownies
Fairly new to our range, our baby brownies are a great alternative or addition to cakes. Adorable miniature brownies - these two-bite brownies aren't just the perfect gift, they're also great with an afternoon tea, or as a wonderful treat. Just like our Baby Sponge Cakes we have pre-selected boxes or a choose your own option. All of our brownies are gluten free (with the exception of the Speculoos brownies) and we have vegan options too.
