Norfolk is a wonderful county, it has everything you could want in one place really, you can go from being in Norwich city centre with its abundance of shops and restaurants, to the beautiful broads and forests, to fun at the seaside within a reasonable amount of time in one day if you want. There is so much to do and see in the beautiful county of Norfolk, UK.
It’s a go to place for many people for staycations, lots of people frequent the gorgeous Norfolk broads to relax and admire the abundance of wildlife, and enjoy the coast of North Norfolk for their summer holidays. Norfolk has even been a go to place for celebrities to visit such as Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher enjoying a boat trip on the broads, and John Travolta was more recently spotted in various locations in Norfolk with his family.
Norwich is at the heart of Norfolk itself, rich in history, it’s a fabulous place to be. Its delights were highlighted notably in Ainsley Harriott and Grace Dent’s ‘Best of Britain By The Sea’ on channel 4. And quite a few films have been filmed here, with Elm Hills wonderful architecture and cobbled streets perfects for features such as Stardust (2007) and Netflix Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020). As well as many of Norwich’s locations being used for the Stephen Merchant film Fighting with My Family (2019), as it was based on the life of WWE’s Paige who was raised and started her wrestling training with her family in Norwich before joining the WWE in America.
There’s so much to admire here, with many businesses calling it home as well, including Sponge; we are based in Holt in North Norfolk. So, it may come as no surprise that we are cheering for Norfolk Day 2022 on the 27th July. We adore the county with live and work in a lot. We established Sponge back in 2009, we took the Sponge Cakes from the comfort of their home in Byfords (Holt), and created Sponge so that everyone could enjoy these delicious cakes in their own homes. It was also a great opportunity to showcase great Norfolk produce to the whole of the country and we haven’t looked back!
We receive great feedback for all of our cakes, and this is down to the passion we have found our cakes as well as much tasting, research and a fair whack of hard graft that we put in. Not only that, but we are also dedicated to making sure everyone gets to enjoy a slice of delicious cake. That’s why we’ve put a lot of time and energy into creating a great range of gluten free cakes, dairy free cakes, vegan cakes, and gluten and dairy free cakes. We’ve also introduced our brownie range, and we will continue to invest into developing more products, product ranges, and dietary ranges to ensure that everyone can enjoy delicious Norfolk produce delivered to their door.
