If you want to create an experience for your loved one this year, rather than just a present, then it’s good to have a plan. Now, you may have to keep the purse strings a bit tighter than usual because of the rising cost of things, so you can’t spend hundreds of pounds on Valentine’s Day, and that’s fine. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to create a wonderful experience for your partner.
A night in can sometimes be just the ticket if you plan it right. Let’s start things off with creating the right environment, you might want to set the romantic mood of the evening with lighting, a great way to achieve the perfect mood lighting is with candles. Tea lights are an affordable way to create the effect, and you can even get battery powered ones if you are a bit worried about lots of open flames, you may even want a bigger candle or two on the dining table to make it more romantic. Then you can get some flower petals, again real or fake will do just fine, real will be biodegradable which is great, but can be more costly. Fake ones are reusable so may be a better option if you plan on using them more than once.
Entertainment is going to be the next thing to think about. Have you got a go to romantic film to cuddle up to and watch? Or perhaps just some romantic music in the background with their favourite love songs.
The big thing to think about is food. Food can be the make or break of the evening. Think about their favourite dishes, but you still want it to be romantic. A light starter, a beautiful main (probably best to avoid anything too garlic heavy, or that will sit heavily in the stomach), and the perfect dessert.
