Living with a gluten allergy or gluten intolerance, or even choosing not to eat gluten can come with its challenges when it comes to food. National Celiac Awareness Day is a chance to learn about what being diagnosed with Celiac Disease means, and perhaps encourage some to try a gluten free diet. The day is observed on the 13th of September 2021.
Gluten free products are becoming more readily available, which is great! Sometimes however you may feel a bit let down with the quality, which is what we found when we were trying some supermarket bought gluten free cakes. But that set us on a mission, to create a range of gluten free cakes that taste just as good as our standard cake range. Gluten Free Coffee Cake – Our Gluten Free Coffee Cake has an indulgent gluten free coffee infused sponge, creamy coffee buttercream and yummy chocolate coffee beans on top.
Gluten and Dairy Free Elizabeth Cake – The perfect choice if you need to avoid both gluten and dairy! Juicy sultanas, free range eggs, lemon juice, gluten free flour mix and ground almonds create this fruity sponge. Quality apricot jam binds the sponge together and demerara sugar is dusted on top for added crunch.
