This year is passing by so quickly again, Mother’s Day falls earlier than usual as well. This year Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 14th March 2021. Which isn’t that far away, so you may be wondering what to do for your Mum this year to make the day as special as possible for her. You could do the standard of ordering her flowers, but if you want to change it up a bit this year, we have a few suggestions.
It’s going to be a different kind of Mother’s Day in 2021, with many restrictions in place there’s only so much you can do for her if you don’t live with her, and the same even if you do. But we have some ideas that could help you make her day special.
Afternoon Tea – You could arrange an afternoon tea for your Mum. If you live close enough to stick within the rules, or if you live with her, you could make her all of the things such as sandwiches, scones, etc. that go into a wonderful afternoon tea and either drop it off at the doorstep or present it to her if you are able to be with her in person. If you’re too far away there are some places that either do a whole package or that will drop of ready-made sandwiches and scones. As for the cakes, well our baby sponges are perfect for an afternoon tea, you can even include sachets of tea or coffee, plus prosecco for a sparkling afternoon tea. We can deliver our baby sponge cakes straight to her door. If you’re not able to be with her why don’t you order yourself some as well and you can have a virtual afternoon tea together!
Movie Night – Do you both have a go-to film you love watching together? Set up a film night, make sure you a copy of your favourite film (or if you’re apart make sure you both do), and arrange a time you can watch it. Make sure you’ve got some drinks and treats together as well. As with our lovely baby sponges, all of our goodies can be delivered anywhere in the UK. You might choose to send one of our cakes, or our brownies would be the perfect choice for a film night. They can be eaten as they are, or for a naughty but nice treat, warm up a wedge of brownie, and enjoy it with ice-cream, cream, or custard.
A Picnic – Whether it’s an outdoor picnic or an indoor picnic, it’s quite a fun thing to do really. Just get lots of nibbles together, any drinks your Mum enjoys, and set aside some time to have a sit-down and natter with lots of tasty food. It’s another great thing to do even if you can’t be with her in person, arrange to have a video call with her so you can still have a picnic together.
