Sticky Toffee Pudding, is a popular steam dessert, using dates, rich toffee sauce, and is usually accompanied with custard, cream, or ice cream. It is thought that the original Sticky Toffee Pudding was produced by Francis Coulson at Sharrow Bay Country House Hotel in the Lake District in the 1970s. The recipe was so secret that the original recipe is considered a culinary legend, and members of staff at Sharrow Bay signed a secrecy agreement not to reveal the recipe. The warming comfort that the Sticky Toffee Pudding provides, is perfect for the harsh cold weather the Lake District experiences.
