We have tasted and tested a range of vegan cakes to create our vegan products. The ones we tried were either dry or stodgy and that just wasn’t good enough for us! Our range of vegan cakes are just as delicious as our standard sponges and most people can't tell the difference. We have received great feedback on both our vegan chocolate cake recipe and our vegan carrot cake recipe, because we worked hard to perfect our vegan cake recipes.
What’s in Sponge’s Vegan Cake?
We have two options for you to choose from for your wedding cake flavours, each one has its own set of ingredients to make it perfectly flavourful. Here’s more about your choice of vegan cake flavour:
Vegan Chocolate Cake - Soya milk, chocolate and vegan butter create our delicious and indulgent vegan chocolate sponge. Our secret ingredient is coffee which really brings out the chocolate flavour! Nibbed cocoa pieces are sprinkled on top give some added crunch. Filled with our vegan buttercream that is wonderfully smooth, thick and creamy. Made from delicious chocolate, vegan butter and sugar. Yum!
Vegan Carrot Cake - Grated carrots, soya milk, walnuts, sultanas and cinnamon make a deliciously moist vegan sponge. Complemented with creamy vegan buttercream made from vegan butter and a dash of natural lemon flavouring and crunched walnuts on top.
What wedding cake packages are available?
We have several options to choose from, and you are also able to mix and match the options to create a personalised package to suit the requirements of your big day!
Tiered Wedding Cake – Let’s start with the most traditional; design your own three-layered naked wedding cake online to be enjoyed and admired by your wedding guests. Choose a flavour sponge to make your base and middle layer, as well as 4 cute baby sponges to sit on top. You can also add flowers, fruit, candles, chocolates to theme your wedding cake and make your wedding truly special.
Wedding Cake Tower - Our Baby Cake Wedding Tower is our take on the traditional cupcake wedding tower and is made up of our cute baby cakes! Feed up to 80 people with your choice of flavours, the tower package contains: 1 Just married wooden topper, 7 tiered acrylic clear stand and 80 baby sponge cakes of your choice.
Whole Wedding Cakes – Get 6 of our Sponge cakes for 16 in your choice of flavours to feed 96 wedding guests generously. Have one flavour for all 6 sponges or different flavours, and get your wedding cakes delivered to your door or venue. They make a great wedding dessert to feed up to 96 wedding guests of all ages!
Baby Cake Wedding Favours – Our cute little baby sponge cakes are sure to put a bigger smile on your guests faces. They come individually wrapped making them delightful wedding favours for everyone! With their quirky boxes, they are perfect for place settings or as a centrepiece stacked on a dessert table. Choose from packs of 40, 80 or 120.
How do I order my Vegan Wedding Cake?
It’s really easy to order your wedding cake, let’s take the example that you want to order a tiered cake. Head over to our wedding cake page and click on the tiered wedding cake option. Choose your product from the drop-down menu and click buy to go through to select your cake flavour, starting with the base layer of your tiered cake. You’ll see a list of flavours that are in alphabetically order, so to select the vegan option, you will need to go down to ‘V’ where you will see a choice of vegan chocolate cake and vegan carrot cake. Once you’ve selected your base layer, you’ll need to choose your middle layer, and you don’t need to pick the same flavour you can mix and match! To top it all off you’ll get to choose your baby cake flavours, you can have all the same or mix and match here too! Then if you’re happy with your choice, you can either continue to add more products to your order or go through to the checkout where you can enter all of your details and select a delivery date. Simple and stress-free.

We also can deliver our naked wedding cakes directly to venues to make your life easier. For special occasions, however, we always recommend that you select delivery for the day before to ensure that it arrives safely in time.
