Race for Sponge!

Gillian emailed in this Sponge Moment of her daughter Hannah, after running 5k for Cancer Research...

"Hello lovely Sponge people, here is a photo of my beautiful daughter Hannah with the Banoffee Sponge cake I gave her as a treat when she finished the 5k Race For Life in Glasgow, raising £516.55! Hannah ran the race in memory of her Grandma who had ovarian cancer and passed away just before Christmas.

Hannah shared the cake with me and her dad as our treat for travelling up from Crewe to Glasgow to watch the race. I had previously thought that the chocolate cake was my favourite but the combination of banana sponge with chocolate chips is far more wonderful than it sounds and the toffee topping and buttercream make it a glorious taste sensation. I wish I had ordered a larger cake so that I could have had a 2nd slice!
