Coeliac UK's 'Gut Feeling' Awareness Week.

This week is Coeliac Awareness Week: 'Gut Feeling'. One in 100 people have coeliac disease however only 1 in 8 of those with the condition are diagnosed. Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disease. Gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye triggers an immune reaction in people with coeliac disease. This means that eating gluten damages the lining of the small intestine.
