Sponge on the Road - June

The Sponge Tour is now truly underway after visiting the Nottingham and Newark County Show in May and more recently, the Suffolk and Royal Bath & West shows. “My oh my, how time has flown, it seems just yesterday we exhibited at The Nottingham and Newark Show 2010, one of our very first shows! We returned this year with exciting new flavours & the Baby Sponges and handed out tonnes of scrummy tasters to remind our fans of the love affair that began a year ago.” (Amy at the Nottingham and Newark County Show.)

Richard took Sponge cakes and wedges to the Royal Bath & West Show near Shepton Mallet in Somerset, new turf for Sponge and, despite sweltering away in the Food Pavillion, introduced the people of the West to Sponge, treating them to delicious samples. Again a fantastic response, we made friends for life and will certainly be back next year when Rich will be sure to pack his shorts! “Despite near 100% humidity in the Food Hall, we were left with an empty stand at the end as I’m sure many of you who attended the last day saw! Amy and Nee also enjoyed buckets of sunshine, nipping down the road to The Suffolk Show to treat our neighbouring county to a slice of the action! We had fantastic feedback from the Suffolk folk who couldn’t get enough of Bakewell and Victoria, even remembering the exact flavours they had and noticing the tweaks we had made along the way. “Great to see people loving the Sponge range – we were asked several times when Sticky Toffee was making a comeback!”
